01 · Founder
Laurens Nys.
Ortelian is founded and led by Laurens Nys. He builds the platform and works directly with customers, from the first call through the audit, the build and launch.
Before Ortelian, he founded GTM Sigma, building go-to-market and knowledge systems for B2B companies. That work is where the idea for Ortelian’s world model came from.
His focus is how agents understand a business, how the work needs to change and what it takes to put AI into daily use. He writes about these questions in Ortelian’s notes.
02 · Conviction
Useful AI starts with understanding the work.
Making AI useful inside a company comes down to two problems:
- Getting it used. That is a people and process problem.
- Making it good at the work. That depends on what it can do and what context it has.
To take on responsibility, an agent needs to know the business: its people, systems, commitments and the world it operates in. It needs a clear standard for good work, limits on what it can do and a way to learn from what happens.
That is why Ortelian brings the implementation and the platform together. For the first, we work on site and redesign the process with the people who know it, so the work actually changes. For the second, we build the agents and the world model they work from, so they have the context to do it well. What goes into use becomes the foundation for the next piece of work.
